The municipal area is in the north of the province of Cordova, in full center of the region of The Pedroches. It borders on Two Towers and Villaralto in the northern part, with it limit with Añora in the eastern part, with Villanueva of the Duke in the western part, with Pozoblanco to the south-east and with Espiel to the southwest. It is placed to an altitude of 602 meters on the level of the sea and to 74 km from the capital of province, Cordova.
This population is born as such in the Middle Ages. His name derives from Alcarazejos's deformation (palace) and his foundation is of the 15th century where it reached Torremilano's independence (Two Towers) and happened to form a part of Seven Villas of The Pedroches.
