Almodovar Castle is a military fortress of Arabic origin from the year 740, the Arabs built taking advantage of an ancient building primitive times. It was of great importance in defense of the city of Córdoba due to its strategic location given which is situated on a hill of about 200 m along the Guadalquivir River, which at the time was navigable by small boats.
