The historical and archaeological heritage of the Cordoban Subbetica is outstanding for its wealth and number of excavations. The Subbetica was a frontier between Christians and Moslems from the beginning of the 13th century until the end of the 15th, thus forging a frontier society with intersecting cultures, peoples, instabilities, and an individualisitic people.
