It borders on Priego's municipalities of Cordova (in the western part), in his province; with Alcala the Royal one (in the eastern part), in Jaen; and with Montefrío (in the southern part), in Granada. His municipal area is the most oriental of the whole Cordova. Almedinilla possesses a core of principal population and 5 villages: The Rivers, Sileras, Brácana, Sale Valero and Big Source.
He is to an altitude of 622 meters and to 114 kilometers of the capital of the province, Cordova.
To speak about Almedinilla is to speak about archaeology, culture, heritage, as his important archaeological deposits do it: the Roman Villa " The Turn " (Declared B.I.C), one of the most important surfaces of the Peninsula; the Iberian Settlement " Hill of the Cross " also declared B.I.C., one of the few ones of Low Iberian Epoch excavated in Andalusia and his Historical - archaeological Museum that contains the extraordinary pieces that are contributing these deposits, emphasizing the Iberian ceramics and the sculptural set of our Roman villa, reigning on all of them the Greco-Roman god of the dream: Hypnos or Somnus, whose condition turns it in the most important of the few ones preserved in the world.
