Construction work on the church, founded as a Royal Collegiate church in the 14th century and located in Bulevar del Gran Capitán, did not fi nish until the 18th century, conserving its medieval Gothic eastern end. The tombs of kings Fernando IV and Alfonso XI The Justice Giver are in the presbytery while that of the academic Ambrosio de Morales is in the cloister.
