The Zóñar lagoon is located southwest of Aguilar de la Frontera, to which municipal area it belongs. Located at an altitude of 290 meters, it is framed by ridged reliefs mainly dedicated to the cultivation of the olive grove.
A visit to the town without a stop at the Laguna de Zóñar would be incomplete. The Visitors Center, the public observatory or the Carrizosa botanical trail are some of these elements of interest. It is found taking the road towards Puente Genil, about 3 km from Aguilar.
