Baroque art is slowly taking deep root in Andalucia because of the great religious fervor which exists in this area. This area of the Subbetica is, therefore, an important focus for this type of art, with the, at times, very local characteristics which proliferate in the area, helped by a booming economic situation in some towns, by the number of artists which are concentrated here, and by the quality of their work.
